Indianapolis- What a heart stopper. The Patriots did not make it easy on their way to a victory over the home town Colts. I am sure Peyton Manning would love to forget this game as he literally threw the game away. Manning would have a rough time against a determined Patroits defense and end the night with 6 interceptions. This was not a game for the faint of heart as the Patroits offense was nothing to write home about. Tom Brady would throw for 3 interceptions himself, some of them heart stoppers in the red zone. On 2 occasions, the Patriots QB would drive the team down into the Colts red zone only to throw the ball away to a Colt defender. Manning on the other end, would not let Brady out do him as he would also drive the Colts deep into the Patriots zone only to throw it away himself. The game came down to Randy Moss and the Patriots D. Moss would catch only 4 passes but accumulate 219 yards receiving and 1 TD. The Patriots defense came up big all night long, but the last 3 minutes of the game would be the defining moments of the game. With a little over 3 minutes left, Manning would drive the Colts to the Patriots 3 yard line. With 4 attempts to get the ball in, the Patriots Defense would put up a goal line stand that was simply amazing. The Colts ended up turning the ball over with under 3 minutes to go. The Patriots offense only had to run the clock out. The first running play would lead to Kevin Faulk fumbling the ball on the 4 yard line and the Colts recovering. An appeal clearly showed Faulk perhaps committing the gaffe that would perhaps sink the Patroits season. With the Patriots' playoff hopes riding on the defense holding onto another goal line stand, they would not disappoint. Manning under pressure from the Patriot pass rush would promptly throw away the Colts chances and keep the playoff race ever so tight. Rosevelt Colvin would step up and pick off the Manning pass and take a kneel in the Patriots end zone. With just over 2 minutes to go, the Patriots came out with a bomb to Randy Moss to get into the Colts 30 yard line. From then one it, was the running game to run out the clock as the Colt used up all their time outs. Surprisingly with under 1:30 to go and inside the 29 with 4 th and 1 yard, Coach Bill Belichick yanked kicker Stephen Gostkowski off the field and had Brady try for the 1 yard to get a first down and deny the Colts another chance to get the offense back onto the field. Brady would lower his shoulder and force his way to a first down and end the Colt's hopes for a comeback. With this victory, the Patriots creep to one game behind the league leading Colts and stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. With a 4-4 record and at 0.500 for the first time this late in the season, this reporter is hopeful that the team will make it into the playoff. Next up are 2 games with Giants and the outcome of these will determine the fate of the Patriots. It is going to be one heck of a finish in the CMFL folks. Sit back and enjoy!!!

Log Jam! That’s right, we have a competitive race. The Patriots demonste that their desire to emerge from the ashes and become one of the top teams in the CMFL is something that can’t be taken lightly. The Pats took care of business last night downing the visiting Chargers 31-28. While the score was close, the Pats shut down the Chargers offense shutting them out for 2 quarters. The win now puts them right back in the thick of things only a game behind. The Colts are out front with 4 wins then followed by the Chiefs, Chargers and Pats each has 3 wins. If you check the leaderboards you'll also see that Tom Brady is currently the number one QB in the league. His favorite WR , Randy Moss is also leading among his peers. There’s still however a lot of football to be played but the Pats have proven to everyone that they have both the will and ability to win.

Momentum is a fickle thing. The Pats open the game moving the ball downfield easily coming away with a 3-0 lead on their first possession. Then after stopping the Chiefs first drive they would fumble away the Chiefs punt and allow Tryon Brackenridge to scoop up one of two fumble recoveries on the night and take it in for the score. The Pats looked to have stole the momentum back as they would go on to score on three bombs to Randy Moss and finally regain the lead at 24-21. But with 2 minutes remaining in the half, Brody Croyle would put toghether a brilliant 2 minute drill hurrying up the calls and keeping the Pats D on edge finding Tony Gonzalez in the endzone and recapturing the momentum and most importantly, the lead. The second half was all Chiefs defense as they would figure out a way to blanket Moss and the rest of the Pats offense.
Owner Smith commented..."This win is very important for us because it puts us back in the race and that's where we want to be..."
